WHERE WORSHIP BEGINS — MARKED BY HIS PRESENCE
Born at 2 months premature, weighing 900 grams and under developed lungs, Allan’s testimony started at birth. Being in and out of hospital as a child due to lung and respiratory issues, leading worship today and being able to sing is one of his biggest testimonies today. He has been singing since the age of 9 and music has been something that has been a part of his life as early as he can remember. The very breath that the enemy tried to remove, would today be declaring the goodness of God and His faithfulness through worship. Allan’s journey with the Lord began after having a radical encounter with God in worship at a connect group in 2006. He went straight into serving at his previous church (Little Falls Christian Centre) Youth Ministry and graduated after completing a 3 year Bible College Course at DTC Little Falls.
His involvement with leading worship and the music ministry goes back to 2006, when he started leading worship at the Youth Ministry of his previous church and months later would start as a vocalist in the senior worship team alongside seasoned musicians and singers, one being Malie Kelly (who was his vocal coach for many years) and many other musicians and artists in the music ministry and music industry today.
Fast forward a couple of years to 2010, he married Taryn, his beautiful wife whom he knew many years prior before reuniting with her in their previous church. They welcomed their daughter in 2012 (Teagan), and 5 years later welcomed their son (Bryan). Bryan was a miracle as Allan was declared infertile in 2013 and Taryn miscarried shortly before Bryan’s conception in 2016.
Allan has been serving as Worship Pastor, and in Leadership at Encounter Church since 2016.
Known for his authentic sound and heart for worship, he has led thousands into deep encounters with Jesus, both on stage and off. More than just a worship leader or an artist. He has a passion to raise and train worshipers that not want to worship because of a stage or a microphone but because of their love for Jesus, use their gift to glorify Him and see John 4 verse 23-25 as their mandate.
John 4:23-24: “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the TRUE WORSHIPERS WILL WORSHIP THE FATHER IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH; for such people THE FATHER SEEKS… to be His worshipers. GOD IS SPIRIT, and THOSE WHO WORSHIP HIM MUST WORSHIP HIM IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH.”
Allan released his first international single release in 2018, and his first album in 2019 “Face to Face”, between 2018 and 2025, he has released 2 albums and 4 singles (You can find out more about his music & releases here).
Whether leading at his local church or at conferences, Allan carries a mandate: It only takes ONE ENCOUNTER with the presence of God that change a person’s life FOREVER. Worship creates the atmosphere for THAT moment to happen. “I do not take that lightly, it will ALWAYS be an honor and priviledge to do what I do, and as cliched as what it may sound, God will ALWAYS get the glory.” he says.
1987

2006
A radical encounter with God in worship at a connect group, marked the change of His life forever.
2010
Married Taryn-Lee, beginning a new chapter of life.
2012
Welcomed his daughter into the world, Teagan Rae, an answered prayer and fulfilment of a prophetic word.
2017
Welcomed Bryan Joshua, after a miscarriage, and being declared infertile by a doctor, inspiration behind several intimate worship songs & moments.
2018
Released his first single “Face to Face” that reached #1 on the Christian & overall charts in South Africa & was welcomed by radio play locally & internationally.
2019
Released his first studio album, “Face to Face” that reached #1 on the overall charts in South Africa.
2020
Allan & Taryn both got ordained into ministry as Pastors at Encounter Church.
2022
“Open the Heavens”, was released as his first original single release after the success of “Face to Face”, the song went straight to Number 1 and was positively received locally & internationally.
2024
“Your Presence”, another powerful original song, was released both locally and internationally and received well from radio stations around the world. “Worship at the Piano” followed shortly after which was released as his first spontaneous worship album that included some of today’s powerful worship songs that get sung in churches world wide.
2025
“In the Mighty Name” originally recorded by Hope Darst, Allan released an intimate rendition of this song. This anthem has since become one of his favorite worship songs to sing and worship to.
